Lavinia Haarhoff

Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor

Warm, relational, integrative therapy

About Me

I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor offering both short-term and longer-term therapy. Being an integrative therapist means I draw on a range of different therapeutic approaches, rather than working from one single model. This allows me to tailor the work to each individual, their needs, and what feels most helpful at different stages of therapy.

How I Work

My work is relational at its core, meaning I place importance on the therapeutic relationship as this is considered an important part of the healing process.

I support clients in gently exploring how past experiences may still be showing up in their present—whether in relationships, emotions, self-esteem, or patterns of coping that no longer feel helpful.

My intention is always to meet you where you are, rather than where you think you “should” be, and to work alongside you in building insight, self-compassion, and more supportive ways of relating to yourself and others.

Areas of Focus

I specialise in relational trauma and childhood trauma, with a particular focus on attachment and early relational experiences. My work in this area is also informed by personal experience, which I hold in mind alongside my professional training and which deepens my understanding of the impact of early relational experiences and attachment trauma.

My work also extends to supporting parents who are navigating the emotional pressures of parenting, including the desire to understand themselves more deeply in order to show up differently in their relationships with their children.

I also have extensive experience working within mental health services, supporting people with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, stress, overwhelm, low self-worth, and feeling stuck or disconnected.

Qualifications & Practice

I hold a degree in Psychology with a counselling specialism, as well as a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice.

I work with individuals aged 18 and over and am based in the UK, offering sessions via online and telephone allowing flexibility and accessibility from the comfort of your own space.

Fees

My standard fee is £60 per 50-minute session.

I offer a limited number of concessionary spaces for those on lower incomes, students, care leavers, or those receiving benefits.

Please mention this in your enquiry if needed.

Getting in touch

If you would like to enquire about starting therapy, please email me with a brief outline of what you are looking for support with.

I will then arrange a free 15-minute introductory telephone call. This is an opportunity for us to have a short conversation, explore what you are looking for, and see whether working together feels like a good fit. There is no pressure in this call—it is simply a chance for us to get a sense of each other.

If we decide to proceed, I will send over some initial paperwork, including a contract and intake forms for you to complete.

We will then arrange a full initial consultation session at the agreed rate. This is a 50-minute session where we can explore things in more depth and begin to think about how we might work together going forward.
